My 10 year old GYS mig welder died and did not want to perform well at all after repairs , Got myself a used Merkle 165amp machine and I am really so pleased with it , it came with a BOC MB25 torch that I found to big for what I do , so invested in Binzel MB15 and a new Esab A40 hat , also put it on 06mm wire and it welds a dream on car bodywork , 1mm and 1.5mm steel 
Not sure how the stich and spot functions work but I did find that if turn wire feed right down it stops so handy to purge gas ,why cant others do that .

Merkle stuff is generally good, bit uncommon to find in the UK.
