I'm back and would really appreciate your thoughts on my progress, if any. I have been getting stuck in and I think my technique and confidence has improved. Here's an example of a most recent butt weld....
I hadn't cut the pieces perfectly straight, so when butted up, there was a bigger gap in the middle than at each end. The welder was on the highest setting, and I was pulling the puddle from right to left with the tip pretty close to the work. I watched the puddle and, apart from at the very start, I tried to take my time.
I would be really interested in any feedback or constructive criticism, as I'm sure there's always room for improvement.
