After busting my 35 year old 3 inch drill press vice ( no drill marks on it either ) by dropping it this morning , I got a four inch one from machine Mart this afternoon , as their three inch ones looked very flimsy & rough made .
However there is one difference to my old vice , the top of the jaws are not recessed so you can grip a thin plate for drilling , neither is there a mid point "Vee" in the center of both jaws for gripping round bar end drill it . The jaws are removable .
The jaws appear to be hardened steel, I have no way of putting the recesses or the Vee's in the jaws .
Do any of you guys who have a milling machine have any tooling that might be able to cut them and secondly would any of you be willing to do it for plastic beer tokens .
If it's not a sensible idea please tell me why you think it is so.
