new tyre out of round on bead

Is this acceptable for a new tyre? Can't say I've noticed it on any others (I'm fairly new to fitting my own tyres) but this is a 295/20 so quite big-ish.

That looks like it's been hung on a hook that's left an indentration I'd be surprised if it causes a problem once fitted. As long as it balances up no problem I don't think I'd worry too much about it.

But! I can only go by what I can see in the pictures

You havent mentioned the tyre brand. Is it a landsail or tigerpaw for example?

Most likely a storage or handling issue then caused that dent

More likely it's where another tyre has been wedged in during initial transport.

But it'll likely be fine once fitted.

The rest of the tyre appears to follow a smooth curve, so it should be able to sit snugly on the rim and be OK to use.

Usually see dents like that in tyres that have been fitted before. Wouldn't be surprised if it had been fitted and then removed again for whatever reason.

Looks to me that tyre has been fitted and the distortion caused by a tyre lever being used to lift the bead over the guide on a tyre machine. You probably have what’s known as a demount tyre?

I dunno. Bought new from Camskill. There's no other evidence of being fitted etc.
As others have said, hopefully it will pull into shape. I'm sure it will, given how tight they are.

There probably isn't supposed to be, they often get trimmed off.
