New toy

I won this on eBay last night for £25.50 and the seller offered to deliver

The listing didn't say who made it, or anything about it but for the price I thought it was worth a punt.
The motor is 3/4 HP 415 volt 3 phase but I should be able to inverterize or replace it. The shaft is driven by a belt and it has another belt (The one poking out of the hole in the top) which powers a water pump to pump water from the sump on the side over the wheels.
The tables can be tilted and they have a slot for an angle rest, should be really nice for grinding lathe tools




I'm thinking of making a big electrolysis tank from a tarp...

The column looks exactly like an old pedestal grinder I had. Annoyingly I forget the maker, but it was one of the well known old build it like a barn door makers. Very nice catch.

He wasn't happy about it, first thing he said when he got out the car was "Offering to deliver this was the worst decision of my life. Worst decision of my life" Apparently he hurt his neck loading it, god knows how as he said he did it with a FLT.

Are they made to use the face rather than the edge? One of the wheels this came with looks like a normal grinder wheel that has been used on the face, I don't know if this is acceptable or not?

What you experienced there was merely the grumpy old chuff syndrome. Every bloke gets like it as they get older. They'll complain incessantly and pee people off just for no other reason than doing it.

i thought about that, but our ones have loads of drainage holes drilled in them.
