Fed up of having to wait for curved sections, not being able to get them locally or just too downright expensive, I decided to splash out and get my own section rolls.
Next 3 jobs all have a decent amount of curved box sections in them, so the cost has been offset a little against the job.
Anyway enough of the blabber, check out this beauty........
First job was to roll some 40mm box for another fabricator who is doing some work for me, bit of trial and error, and we got there,
Pretty much got repeatable results using the DRO readings. After watching the guys trying to roll stuff on their small rollers , this thing makes it look
like a toy.
Rolled to this radius in a single pass ( then 2 more to tweak it exactly as required). Plasma is back up and running , so cut a template out of 1.5mm plate to check the rolling and to cut them to length with the ends having angled cuts.
Nice little mission control unit to control the 3 driven rolls ( 2 lower adjustable) and the side guides that move up and down and in and out.
Bonus being the chap who delivered and set up also sorted out the ironworker that had not worked since I bought it ( second hand).
He changed round a couple of the 3 phase wires, and boosh it was working. Top man.
