Well, I've been on the look out for a lathe for some time, as I have a few bits in mind that I'd like to have a go at creating in the future. Most of the tools I own are actually very basic and entry level, and mostly inherited - apart from the woodworking tools I picked up cheap.
I managed to bag a cheap, but in need of some TLC, lathe on the bay of E last night, for the pricey sum of £50. I do need to factor in collection, but as I'm returning a cylinder to Peter Gibbs' Rothwell outlet on the same day I've written it off.
I know very little about the lathe, although it looks to have been a treadle powered model in its past, but has been allowed to rust up a little over the years. Nothing a spit and polish won't sort out.
If anyone can identify the lathe, that would be great, but its not of massive importance at the moment. I just need to get it collected.

It's generally easier and cheaper to buy another complete lathe than it is to buy any of the parts for them, on the occasion they crop up. Especially the changewheels. They tend to command fairly silly money when sold on their own. Sturdy little lathe though. They're a good quality, solid piece of kit.
