im gonna bow out, unless you can provide a picture of a v5c with it saying 3t. which i know you cant so.....
Disco3/4? people will have concerns over complexity but they are dam good cars if you get a good one. Independent garages are comfortable working on them now too. For that money you could probably get one that's gone through its expensive phase and had the belts, arms, bushes, diffs and air compressor done. My earlier ones were in the lower tax bracket and I towed heavy for miles they don't bat and eyelid at it.
To be really blunt sit in a toureg there not a lot of room with a low roof and high boot floor
They are gone now so I've no tax book. I also believe the 2008 auto sorento tows 3.5ton.im gonna bow out, unless you can provide a picture of a v5c with it saying 3t. which i know you cant so.....
I think he is ok to tow 3 ton providing he doesn’t exceed the 2640 vehicle weight, the problem with the vehicle weight is it may well be the dry weight which won’t normally include fluids driver and clutter.

The gvw is including passengers, cargo and all fluids etcI think he is ok to tow 3 ton providing he doesn’t exceed the 2640 vehicle weight, the problem with the vehicle weight is it may well be the dry weight which won’t normally include fluids driver and clutter.

I know Steve but that V10 diesel is a beast and on that point alone I can forgive the rest of its shortfalls
Bob
it is, but it’s still cramped in the cabin
I have had the pleasure of driving my mates Towrag, I found the dash is a tad big and makes things a bit tight around the knees. Still one hell of a car though.

10k would probably get you a newish dmax
My father had a Disco 4, it never got through its expensive phase, I do not think the car ever managed to get more than 6 months old on average even though he owned it for 5 years. Both turbos needing replacement was the last straw as the car had spent more time in the garage than all of his other cars combined.
Also note that on the Disco 3/4 LR only recommend the detachable tow bar for 'occasional light duty use' as they tend to be overly detachable - he was only towing a 1.6t caravan a few (6 or 7) times a year within the UK and the amount of play in it was scary after a couple of years and again after another 2 years for the replacement (which requires cutting out part of the rear underside to weld in replacement panels)
Just been looking at those as at some point we'll need to replace our D2 but people are saying they rot like hell.
