Hi im new to all this as not welded for some years and then only with a arc welder, but my Daughter and her Boyfreind thought it would be a good idea as I have a mini in bits to Buy me a clarke 160T to use to fix it up with, now ive had it for about 3 weeks and have not used it due to being unsure if I can run it from a 13amp plug as it say unsuitable for 13amp plug, and I have had mixed results when asking Ive had a lot say yes use it but plug it into your cooker plug as it supposed to have 16amps rating, and even a couple of electricians have said use it through the normal plug, Ive also had oh no youll need a 16amp socket put in.
So you see why ive not used it I could use it through my cooker socket rated at 30amp but not sure it would make a difference due to having a 13amp fuse in the plug I know it would probably mean that it would not trip out to much but it could blow the 13amp fuse, so I need advice from those who would know, and thats those that use their welders.
Why the welder was brought need to rebuid this a little more than the picture shows.
