New to the welding world

Good evening, I purchased a wolf 140 mig gas/no gas welder a few days ago, last night I got around to testing it out. Im using 0.8mm flux core and practicing welding some 1.6mm mild. Im hoping to get confident enough to repair some patches on my camper transit

This is my first time welding, any advice or criticism is extremely welcomed. I realised after welding a few bits, I'd

put a 1mm tip on.

So that explains the wandering wire?

I think my welds are too high and im struggling to get decent penetration

Not a bad start! The 1mm tip certainly won't help

Maybe slow your travel speed down and adjust power if you blow holes.

Thanks! Ill have another play tomorrow ill try slowing up a bit too ,any advise on torch angle? Of I rember correctly I tried 90 and 45 degrees on those welds.

Normally on the flat it's 45deg and 0deg tilt or whatever the correct term is now

Dont use flux core for welding bodywork, it requires more heat and distorts your metal.
