new to mig welding

YES i made it did'nt do my test till today well more of a theory really i did'nt realise how much hard work it was going to be but the money's ok so i don't mind i'm really enjoying it and even thinking of investing in a little welder of my own now to maybe do a few projects myself just a thought yet i'd better earn some money first i think my welds are ok you where right just aim and fire

I'm glad to hear you like it too, it's nice going to work and feel good about it...makes life easier eventhough you have to work hard for it... once you'll do it a while it'll get more easy...
What do you have to do, there? Are you assembling(?) those steel constructions they put in armed concrete? (i always liked doing that)

yeah yeah yeah assembly work from 300mm diameter up to 1500mm and upto around 15meters long which you'll probably know they weigh heavy its aim and fire so not to taxing but the computer wrapping system's taking a bit of getting used to at least when i get home i know why i'm tired speak to you soon hunt0

Hi hunt, explain me a bit more what you're doing at work...
i'm kinda confused with the 300 mm? you sure it's not 30 mm?
Yeah, when i get home i know why i'm tired too....i'm saving up to buy me a MIG welder...

sorry i meant 300mm diameter cages i use 12mm coil to wrap them in and 16mm coil for the really big cages there around 1500mm upto 15 metres long sorry, i dont know all the terminology yet hopefully it will come with time

Hi hunt! how was your first week? i hope you're not too tired to reply....i know i am..i'm working morning shifts this week, it's really cold here this week so thats nice when you have to get out of bed at 4 o clock in the morning...brrrrrr... and if i'm really lucky the windshield of my car's frozen too...

working to hard

the weather is frosty in the mornings but then hot in the afternoons my first week's gone ok but now i've been roped into overtime so i must be doing something right it's tiring but i like it so far learning new jobs n that the managment is thinking of training me for a over head crane licence so that will be fun

Hi all

just flicking through the forum its nice to think i inspired someone, finished another hard week looking forward to a lie in on sat thought i'd say a quick ello to you all and thanks again for all the info n stuff you are all a good group
i saw the thread about pushing and pulling i do both but i find better penatration when pushing i use alot of thick steel so i need max penatration and pushing using a fillet join i think its called i use a side to side curved sweeping motion
