I happened across this on FB today. The company is called Liquid Piston.

The US military are funding the development to the tune of $9m so far.

theres various uk versions of the same. Im currently working with a number of small rotary engine producers this side of the pond, on various projects from drone engines, to emergency generator sets for use in areas that have been hit by natural (or un-natural) disasters that are entirely self contained, and backpack carried...... Very cool! for power to weight, the rotary engine is still hard to beat!!

It's a very interesting design. Tge fact it can run on any fuel is a big plus. The use of acetylene, at one point in the video surprised me. Over 29psi acetylene goes into explosive decomposition, and this is a very high compression engine.
