always room for boys toys, he may even keep it when he has grown up, something his old man made, help him to appreciate what it is and how much work went into it as he will realise the importance of it when he is older

Have you written an app so it can be controlled remotely via wifi using a watch on a selfie stick? A few cameras on there and some lights as well?

I reckon you need to mill "Made in U.K." as well. You could probably give up your day job, the quality on this is so good.

How much do you reckon you have in this if you don't mind sharing?

Nope this will be using good old fashioned and simple relays and micro switches to operate it.

With what you have seen so far plus some other bits like the battery, charger, and switches for the control box will be around £60.
All the round bar stock is what I had in my treasure scrap bin and the steel box and bar I get for free, well sort of. If you were to buy all the materials I would say £100 max

Done a bit tonight, made some pegs for the canopy. These sit on the Base of the crane chassis so it is nice and level.
Also made the bracket for attaching the canopy to the chassis.
Tomorrow I'll start on the drivers cabin.

I then thought the poor driver would need a little protection from the elements with it being very high up so I added some glass.....

Right then. Here are the fruits of today's labour. I took the day off work so managed to get quite a bit done. The control box is nearly complete fabrication wise. Just waiting for a couple of electrical bits then I'll wire it up to test. The box will be powder coated black.

This is it welded up and sanded smooth so all the radius match with the fold
