That was taken on the beach in Zipolite, Mexico. The beach and surrounding area are beautiful but the sea is deadly there and its not safe to go in the water. The truck is back in the UK now, waiting for another trip.

Last July on a South of France Aire, we were parked up right next to a very similar Merc Conversion. Owned by a lovely Dutch couple who winter in Morocco every winter.

We got a tour inside, it was amazing and, probably cost a lot more than my A class!!

Yes, there's a number of shipping lines going across the Atlantic on a continuous loop. I used K-line as they stop at Southampton which was more convenient than mainland Europe or Liverpool.

Anything bigger than a van is too big to go in a shipping container, and so it makes sense to ship as roro cargo. In some parts of the world roro ports are a little sparse but there's huge trade in vehicles to and from america so no such problems on the east coast.

So a better question would have been, how much did it cost you?
Any contacts for South America? I want to ride up through Peru, chille, USA, possibly as for as Yukon, then over to Greenland, Iceland finishing in Sthetland. It might take a while

It averaged at £2,800 each way including all agents fees, surcharges and dockside extortion.

A lot cheaper than renting an RV for a year but still an expensive way to start and end a holiday.

Originally I built the truck to do tech support at MTB races and events, if it didn't pay it's way then, either sell it or do some touring, managed to get away in it a few times, before it was stolen.

If I had the money I'd buy a unimog and convert that. I learnt a lot building the Iveo

Meanwhile I've a 1950 GMC pickup I'm thinking of fitting a hooped 'pioneer wagon train' style tent on the back, this will be very basic though.

I gotta wait till the hay has been removed from the load bed before I can start. However planning has started. Looking for a decent cad program to use now
