New Plasma

Today i orded a new cutter,the R-tech p30C...Seems to tick my boxes for what ime after plus comes with the 2 year collect and return warranty...I will give my feedback on its merits when i get it and fire the puppy up. Anybody else had the same and can give there thoughts..

Sure double boost did a vid on the 50 amp version, can't see there being much difference apart from how thick it will cut

Roofman i bought the 30 amp version less than 2 weeks ago, and find the build quality very good. I had a lot of 3mm plate to chop up, and it did the job fine, but i found it difficult to cut unless i had the amps right up. I started with the amps half way up and progress was slow. That maybe my lack of experience with the machine though. But the siemens igbt technology, 2 years return to base warranty and price made it a no brainer, especially for hobby use.

I have an R-Tech P30C, I bought it about 11 months or so ago, I am using it commercially with absolutely no issues what-so-ever.

I would say it's not as easy to pick up as the mig welder was. Not that I am a decent welder yet but a hand held plasma is a long way from a machine laser.

I would also say it depends what you are going to be doing with it and expecting from it.

My R-Tech P30C plasma cutter has the PT31 torch assembly fitted. If yours also has the PT31 You may find the attached consumables file I have put together rather useful.

No bother roofman. I am trying to get the dosh together to buy one of their ac/dc tig welders too. R-tech look good value and for the likes of us using them for light and hobby use, they are ideal.

ive just ordered mine this morning, if the plasma cutter is anything like there welding equipment then I'm sure I will be happy with it, ive just spent the last few days looking at cut 40's, cut 50's and the offerings from Italy, Germany and china which are coming in from £140 but to be honest the 2 year warranty, collect and return service and the fact there uk based is what swung it for me.

I agree, and the same goes for the air - I was producing a lot of dross until I turned the air up.

yep i had the air to low on the cut 50 and had the same issue..

Got the Machine today and had a play,so far ime very happy with its build quality and performance..also it was great to see its been tested looking at a slightly used tip. Fantastic value for money compared to whats out there..R-tech its a big thumbs up from me

LOL...yea i have all bits of cut up metal all over my floor Norm.Hows things your end bud?

Had to cut some 8mm Stainless yesterday...these R-techs are worth every single last penny,still on the full contact tip and after many cuts it still shows no signs of going bad..all the extra consumables i bought with this machine they are going to last years.Best plasma ive ever had pound for pound
