Hi all,
I am fairly new to welding. I find every aspect of welding fascinating and I am trying to learn as much as I can. I have done some MIG welding with my brothers Lincoln but I just received (for free) an old Century Mini Mig 90 amp welder. I have refurbished it, replacing some burned wires. My question is when I have the machine on the tip is constantly 'hot'. From my little experience shouldnt the trigger control not only the wire feed but also the flow of electricity. As it is now I can touch the workpiece without pressing the trigger and it will arc. This isnt a huge deal but I definitely find it a little easier when I have control of the electricity and not just the wire feed. I have probably been as clear as mud but any help will be greatly appreciated.
Andy
