Hi there,
Been looking at the forum for weeks for info as I wanted to change from Arc to Mig. My first thoughts were to get the first cheapest one from Ebay, Screwfix gasless or similar, but soon got put off from reading here!
So finally I bought a Clarke 100EN gas/gasless turbo for £70. I hope it's a good buy for my purposes which is just a bit of body welding, a bit of exhaust welding and what ever comes up in my small shed over the next few years!
Have a few q's for you guys...sorry....
It had (from memory of the Ebay desription) a 'constellated spot tip' on it, whatever that is,what do I need for 'normal' welding?
Also, I've read alot about gas, would it be best to ALWAYS use Argon, or are there times when C02/mix is preferable?
And for learning on relatively thin steel, what wire should I get? I think the thinner the plate, the thinner the wire?
Well, I have a 100 and 1 questions still, but I'd be grateful if you could get me started with these!
Many thanks!
