out of the make hp or dell i would take dell
Those two were picked by my son ...so not sure they suit me.out of the make hp or dell i would take dell
Yeah it does in the real worldssd does make a differance when i installed one in mine boot up is near rightaway but does 50 seconds make that much of a diffrance
the actual using the laptop on the net /emails is no real faster
A few years back i bought a buisness model lenovo thinkpad for college from thier direct website you can get a very very good spec very cheaply or you use to be able to. They took over ibm, there were a selection of upgrades you could spec such as gaphics cards ram hard drive etc. All very cheap upgrades i thing the most costly was from 500gb hard drive to a 1tb and that was only £20. Its a very good laptop and still going strong. They built and airfreighted the laptop from the factory in china for £15 to the scottish highlands in 72hrs best deal i ever got.
I keep my stuff for as long as possible. But the lenovo machine i have posted a screen shot off seems to be only available from one place and its not clear if you can have the option of an SSD AND storage drive. The company I used to work for had a huge array of makes/models of laptops. We used to have to dismantle them a bit to upgrade bits. The Lenovo machine I had was, by far and away the best (physically) put together of the lot. It was built like an aircraft. This sort of thing is as important to me as spec as I'm likely to keep a machine for as long as possible. Things may have changed since but for the same (but opposite) reason, I wouldn't buy a Dell.
Yes i need storage. I hope to be editing video and i need to have a lot of videos from you tube for my grandson to watch when we are in a place with limited internet acess.1tb is a lot - do you need that much? I just deleted / moved a lot from my work laptop which has a 256gb m.2 ssd as its only storage and I have half left. I don't store images or videos though.
1 x 8gb ram is better than 2 x 4gb ram if you plan to upgrade (as you wont need to replace both), but its not that expensive now. maybe just spec 16gb. it doesn't sound like youll need it for what youre doing but....
thats quite a high spec laptop already. its got a decent graphics card and cpu (8th gen - were JUST on 9th)
it really depends on your budget as to what is best, but those machines look decent (better than my corporate machine by a long chalk) and easily capable of what you want.
id take the dell
lucky b*stard
Yeah it does in the real worldbut its also speed of programs and other things. When i added one to my desktops they increased performance as well.
Not sure about the technical details of how or but since i installed SSD drives i found the who experience more snappy and responsive. Programs seem to load quicker etc. Maybe its just me but it certainly feels like it.surely unless the ssd is being accessed the speed will not change unless the ssd/harddrive is beening used as a cashe (sorry spent wrong but you know what i mean) when using web pages or emails from internet based email such as hotmail they donot use the ssd unless you store emails on your own pc and dont use there servers
Problem with adding an SSD to my old laptop means i loose the blueray drive.
