New iPhone 6...?

My old iPhone 5 is slowly fading. I can't say I favour Apple as a company but I'm au fair with the iPhone and have decided to stick with it rather than an android.

To my knowledge the iPhone 6 was deleted several years ago. However it appears various sellers are selling NEW, not second hand or refurbished iPhone s.

Is this possible, or am I missing something here?

If you liked the size/feel of the 5 then look at the Iphone SE, a simple description would be that it's a Iphone 6 in an Iphone 5 shell.

We have them for work and I like the chunky fell it has over the more rounded 6.

I was looking at the SE but ended up getting a 5S, I don't like phones that are too large and this seems a happy medium.

Be careful if and where you buy a new 6, lots of fakes out there especially ebay

Try and check the phones out if you can because you can tell if they have been used on the amount of battery health when you look in settings

E.g my iPhone 6 had a ‘new’ battery put in but the health show it only works to 68% so it gives you a good reference point

the longer you have them the slower they will get unlike the android phones

Yes, and that really DOES worry me since eBay has some of the best prices for the iPhone 6.

Really?? My Experia Z certainly slowed down several years back, from my experience all phones slow as they age.

Thank you for suggesting that model! That'd be perfect, I hate large phones (I have a T.V. and desktop for visual media entertainment) I'm not up on phones, but the SE might just be the one, and 128 GB too!

Work gave me a 7 when my 5s come up for a change. Major step backward if you ask me.
Alright so the camera is better on the bigger screen but that’s it! It’s not a single handed operation any more. I cannot securely hold this thing while sending a text,email etc and hit any of the top corners with my thumb like I could before and if I turn it on it’s side I cannot reach any of the left hand side with my thumb. The 5s was great and a single handed use phone. Love the apple phone but the smaller ones were nicer as phones imo.

I vowed never to buy another iPhone after I put my 2 day old 7plus in my pocket with my keys and the screen cracked (even though it had a sacrificial glass screen on it).
Even though I'd owned 10 iPhones from when they first came out, 5 iPads in different sizes, and 2 MacBook pros , they didn't feel that was good enough to fix it for me. They must make a fortune replacing screens !
I did worry about changing over to android (Galaxy S9) , but all I did was plug the iPhone into the Galaxy and it transferred everything over.
I've got all the apps I used before on the home screen, and so far I've not looked back

Mrs. ZX9's work Motorola has slowed to a snail's pace, she is hardly able to play Candy Crush now. How sad am I? NOT!

If you can make do with a bit less memory, GiffGaff have a great deal on the 32GB versions at the moment - £199 for an unlocked iphone SE, I just got one as a works phone and even if you throw the mandatory £10 sim car you have to buy away they still seem to be much cheaper than any other reputable dealer.

Take a 15 year old laptop with XP on

Restore it from the manufactures CD and it runs like the day it was made

Add 15 years of patches it runs fine, a little slower.


Then add modern badly written apps that were developed on machines with more grunt and not regression tested, the hardware in new machines covers up the poor performance of poor code


When that lazy code hits an old machine it grinds to a halt.

Time moves on, everyone develops for later quicker phones, you update your OS and your apps and it performs exactly as expected - slower

I binned off iPhone's after my first ever one 4 or 4s. Can't remember which model it was, But battery was useless & spent half its life plugged into a charger. The whole updates business also did my head in, So moved over to Android & never went back!

Smart phones in general I think. Older equals more charging regardless of the manufacturer

That's a bit like crashing your new Mondeo into a lamp post and getting annoyed that Ford won't fix it for free even though you've been with them since you bought a new Anglia.

It’s also good as you know any glitches and bugs will be being worked on by Apple in updates. Big investment but they do tend to last a few years and they’re very reliable.

Agreed, I don't like the idea of second hand electrical goods in general, power tools also.

The buyer usually has no idea of the length of usage the item has endured.
