new gas supplier Mid Wales

Hi all, I purchased a bottle of oxygen from a new supplier in Mid Wales yesterday.
They are P and H gas of Welshpool, telephone number is 01938579038.
they are supplying other gasses and when my contract with BOC expires I will be buying a bottle of argoshield replacement from them.
They charged me cylinder deposit of 50 pounds and 33.50 for the gas. I will use it with my portapack equipment. No rental charge is levied.

Hi, the bottle is poorly marked but measures 29 inches in height. It has 12.7 kg marked on it but the markings go round the bottle and have other info in a continuous stream.
Can you tell I am an amateur welder? The company has just set up and the bottle is bigger than the Portaflame one I used to use so I am happy.

Note of caution, you need to check on the fill pressure, just because the cylinder is bigger doesn't mean there is more gas in it

Hi Kels, thanks for the positive post, in answer to the question, the fill pressure on all bottles is 137 Bar and they are 9.4 litres, (my supplier says they are actually 10 litres, but some gauges show 9.4 so it safer to advertise them as that)
The Argon Mix 5% contains enough gas for apporx 5 hrs continuous use.

I am also a very novice welder and as Kels mentioned, we have only just started up the business so all support is very much welcomed.

Hi Mike, yes I can supply you pure argon. The Cylinder is the same size (9.4 litres, 90cm tall) the price is £50 returnable deposit and the gas is £55.23 inclusive of VAT.
