How are you getting on with it? - I would really like a wera one as I already use the interchangeable Kompact screwdrivers, but it seems like you have to buy several of them to cover the same torque range as the Draper.

I'm very impressed with it and the bits, I have the Draper one as well which I was using last year and the Wera is much more comfortable to use and slightly shorter which is better for tight spaces.
I checked the torque of both of them and it is exactly the same.
I do like the Wera kit it is excellent and the tips seem to last better than their competitors.

Hmm which one do you have? The specs say wera does three models 0.3-1.2Nm or 1.2-3.0Nm or 1.7-3.5Nm
Draper I think is 1.0-5.0Nm I’ve heard it said the wera blades do fit in the Draper.

I have the series 7400 fully insulated, 0.3-3.5 nm
It is lower max than the Draper (it is 5nm) but most terminals in the boards I use are either 1.2 or 2.0 nm so don't need a high range.
The blades do fit but don't lock in properly.
If it's anything higher it's usually a bolt so I use a wrench instead.
That isn't Wera yet but a Halfords one.

Not defending him - but they do have a habit of coming loose over time, especially once they have been disturbed.
The terminals on new boards are also a lot crappier than the good old fashioned solid brass stuff IME.
This is why there is such a concern over fires in the wake of all the smart meter installs and the mandating of non combustible metal consumer units.




ive never had any come loose when changing boards i tighten them up then waggle the cables and re tighten . working on boards allready fitted i check every terminal and find a fair few that need quarter of a turn to be right , its just good practice
