I still don't think you can beat 4 of you sat round an old N64 playing Goldeneye with the TV screen split into 4.
Add in a lot of beers and decent takeaway and you could go all night ( often did)
They might have better graphics these days, but 4 pale kids sat in their bedrooms playing each other online just don't live up to that

For its time Goldeneye and the N64 was a cracking game. Perfect Dark was better though imho.

However I wouldn't trade my clan days for sitting around a TV trying to play multiplayer.

I was part of a clan. The clan was part of a group of clans. Forums for both the clan and the collective were very active and social. As was the gaming/training/matches.

Don't have the time to dedicate to gaming these days so I tend to play more SP games

See. Knew I was being dense.

Crappy first day tiling. Customer bought off sized tiles that don't divide well with a Room height. Won't dry cut and 1/5 cuts with the wet saw is cracking. Not fun.

we did 4 on the snes and 8 on the nintendo ds

theres just so much fun to be had with mario kart on both systems

and that includes the ladies and younger teens there vicous there so much enjoyment getting the star or a red schell when our close to the finish line and you get splated with the thing making you come in last
of coarse you can avoid them a little bit and if your lucky and i do mean luck you may just pass the finish line

i play another online games wot with 30 players in different tanks

you get the bullies and the ones that stay back liners demanding you go forward like hell i am doing games got to stage its more being a goldie to win just incase you dont know what i mean its pay to win pay to upgrade.
its just as much fun killing that tank as well knowing hes spent alot of gold on his tank

's not really what online gaming is for a lot of people it's as social as anything else, I've got 2 lots of friends met through online gaming and are married to each other now, my own better half of 2+ years I met through online gaming. I'm afraid the old 'nerd' and other crap that gets spewed on here is well out of touch, most adults under 40-50 these days game online for recreation. There's a reason it's a multi billion dollar industry with meetups all over.
It's rather ironic for people that sit at home talking about welding online in their spare time to take digs at people for gaming online as somehow being nerdy or antisocial, tbfh...

Some people may mock 'gamers', but I see it as being like watching a movie where you can make the characters do as you want them to, not just have to sit watching someone else's idea of how it should be done.

Never played fallout. Been tempted with the VR port.

Been gaming since the early 90s.

This game was as much of a groundbreaking moment as quake was for me.

Most intense 16 odd hours of gaming I've experienced.

When a facehugger leaps at you the fear is real.


A few areas it's properly dark. And the only light source is a handheld torch. A terrifying experience.

I'm getting on for 40 and have always gamed all the time for months or nothing for years, playing Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas for the first time recently has started and all phase. New Vegas has loads of replay value with different missions and dialogue depending how you play. Fallout 4 is at the top of the list of games if I ever buy another gaming PC, playing older games now I only have a laptop.

All I'm going to say is a school mate of mine spent a lot of time playing computer games well from young to well into his 20/30's . . .

Now 50 plus, unmarried, to my knowledge has never had any form of partner . . . not sure all those hours on his own in a darkened room helped much . . .

I've thought of getting back into PC gaming, as I really like the accuracy and convenience of the mouse control, and the mods available with many games, but I'd need to buy the whole system, plus games to match. Currently using PS4 and Xbox.

Half Life was definitely a good set of games. I don't know if they are available to play on any console I have now.

Dabbled with console commands ages ago with fallout 4, most break the game, fun for a few minutes but it's rubbish when you have infinite ammo and stuff. One I kept though was the weight carrying mod! I feel this added to the game as it let me be a total klepto in real life and in the game how many times have you maxed out your character and companion with umpteen typewriters? My later game just became stocking my base with all my valuable crap stuff

Probably a bit small for what your after but does me fine, a huge improvement on my old one. Easy to access menus for preset contrast and brightness settings, and the ability to add a crosshair to the centre of the monitor has helped with shotguns

80 hours in and I've only just realised I can go buy materials etc anywhere I like and fast travel to a settlement to build things......

Years back people used to add a crosshair with a fine pen.

I find one and it's out of stock..

As the thread seems to have warped into a 70's gaming console tribute no ones managed to reply on when the computer specs will handle so I will try again.

Indeed, add a crosshair to a slug gun you have a shotgun sniper rifle and close quarters cannon!
Post skriptum looks interesting, will see what it's doing in the next steam sale
