Bikes? Or cars? When I did trials, I used to glue the tyres on the rims to stop them moving, regularly used to run at 5psi & never moved.
Think my mates caravan insurance had some stipulation of 7 yrs max.Recommended interval is 5 years, maximum 7 years. Seen too many destroyed caravans caused by a sudden tyre failure. For the sake of £200 ish every 5 years its peace of mind. I've happily re used the take off tyres to fit my new build trailer. A puncture on it wouldn't be the end of the word though tbh the old tyres still look perfect.
Car, years ago I had a Cannon Special. A friend in the tyre game at the time fitted & glued them, I don’t know what he used though, but we never rolled off a tyre.Bikes? Or cars?
Heard of people suggesting it with cars, but never successfully doing it.
I throw cars at the scenery under the guise of trialling - I gave gone down to 2psi in deep leaf mold - worked a treat, but tyres had to come off to clear it out of the bead.
do they no longer have a plate with rubber on and a bolt through the rim that clamps the tire in placeWhen I did trials, I used to glue the tyres on the rims to stop them moving, regularly used to run at 5psi & never moved.
I didn’t on mine.do they no longer have a plate with rubber on and a bolt through the rim that clamps the tire in place

No not if you have used compressed air to inflate them it seeps through , decaying artificial rubber even the air outside oxidizes modern tyres . Decent tyre fitting places only use nitrogen to inflate tyres these days .If low miles and you jack it up off season and cover to keep sun off surely you can get more than five years ourt of a set?
Hi
Not on a trailer but on my caravan, last week on the way home from Cornwall I had blow out on the o/s in the middle lane of the M5, Fortunately I have Tyron’s fitted and these kept the tyre on the rim and saved the alloy (and the caravan) , a few minutes after it happened the highways agency turned up and as I was happy to fit the spare they closed the inside lane for me to do it , amazingly we were up and running again in less than 30 mins , just got to get 2 new tyres now as they are both the same age and mileage
