Loved my 3.0L flat six Subaru Legacy and Outback, wish I still had them.
Have a 2.0TDI Passat now and it is ok but just not in the same league. It does have its benefits though, Tax under half and fuel consumption more than double.

I can always sell you the outback if you want? Fresh 12 months mot on it.
The outback is about 22mpg. But the spec b was a bit quicker but the lazy auto is nice relax drive.
@HughF is there much demand for exportING them that way??

Nah. LS3 into a 110 is one wild thought I'm having, another is either a 4.2 or 5l supercharged JLR V8. Just sold my TDV8 so only thing I'm missing is the sound of the V8.

And here's me contemplating a 6.2l...

I have had, VXR8 6.0L, CL 55 AMG 5.5L,jeep 5.7,BMW 4.4L, Lexus 4.2L, etc, all normally aspirated never had a problem with any of the engines, now my BMW 330D turbo & Merc 320d turbo I had many many problems.

Smaller petrol engine with turbo should be ok but are highly stressed, highly tuned, and need to be strictly maintained.

My close dutch friends bought 2x Outback 3.0 for less than the cost of 1 of them in Holland... 2nd hand cars in the UK being worthless, 2nd hand cars in holland being worth a lot...

Seems to be the way, a family friend from Holland comes over every year on his bike and does a tour of Scotland, he said that in Holland there are loads of old cars going about, they don't rush out and buy new ones every few years. He said they usually only buy a new one when the old ones are totally clapped out and that means the price of second hand cars is high.
