Tell me about it.
I had my k4 thou swiped.
Tracker will be invested in.
Shame everyone is so far apart.
A Mig ride out would be a good crack.
Lovely looking bike mate.
They were going to pay me 1800 quid for the bike, and the lowest premium I could find with a theft claim was 1600, up from 400 without. Wasn’t worth it to me so cancelled the claimI got full pay out on mine. How come you lost yours
Yeah they are lively little things I remember that much. Very short and nimble like a 6 with 160 ponies on tap. I’d of liked a newer bike and had the budget to go nuts but I don’t like the newer 10’s to look at and I’m not a fan of all those electronic aids they chuck on them nowadays. Kinda takes the character out of the ride I found. It was a close call between the gen 1 10r and k5 thou.Had a 10r when they first came great bike, felt like a 600 but went like a thou
I’d only ever have a tracker, and alarm plus a decent disco lock just to inconvenience them further if they did get it
Where are you based Richard? I’m in Bedfordshire
That proper sucks. My premium went up but not astronomically. They were going to pay me 1800 quid for the bike, and the lowest premium I could find with a theft claim was 1600, up from 400 without. Wasn’t worth it to me so cancelled the claim
K5 chassis was gorgeous, probably why bmw used the geometry! Brakes were typical Suzuki sponge on a stick affairs thoughYeah they are lively little things I remember that much. Oh blooming heck your not wrong there. When asked by the insurance if I have security devices and or trackers fitted, I declose, but not for insurance purposes. Just incase it does get nicked and they wont payout because the xyz wasnt on.
Nice but 10 minutes Id be in agony
After the zx9r They were always smaller and lighter over the direct competition of the same era.Kawasaki over the rest of them as slightly bigger and heavier feels like you have to man handle it rather than a Tonka toy.

The Zx10r was always the nimble lighter one of the bunch. Hondas blade was always the heavier one.
Other than the 11 plate 10r yes they are older and were bulky bikes. The 6r and 10r from 2004 -2010 was very small and light compared to its rivals. Edit apart from the gen 2I have had a 2003 zx12r, 2001 a1p 636, 2013 z750r and the 2011 zx10r. Mrs had a 2000 zx7r and 2012 z750.
None of which where light or small in comparison.Lightest of which is still 175kg. But brutal none the less.
The biggest downfall on any Kawasaki is either the hard rear shock or scrap brakes.
The brakes weren’t the best or the worst. Gsxr had awful brakes in comparisonI have had a 2003 zx12r, 2001 a1p 636, 2013 z750r and the 2011 zx10r. Mrs had a 2000 zx7r and 2012 z750.

I did exactly the same thing on my k4. Swapped her over to r1 monos and brembo cylinder.Your telling me. This is the affect of the standard brakes in a K3:

Changed to 320mm discs with R1 gold dot monoblocs and an RCS mastercyclinder after the rebuild. So much better.
