Have you checked starter lead and main earth points? Not usually the actual battery connection that gives the problem
How long have the factors had it in stock? I bought a new battery one time & it was worse than the one I took off!
@angellonewolf They're not the best, I worked for ECP previously in the past & the returns rate/warranty was pretty bad on them
The thing is it's not always the cold temperature that can kill batteries, the warmer weather can do the same
If I was you & the battery is no good/you can afford to upgrade. Then I would to a Varta/Bosch S4 instead

Should be a date on it somewhere, either a production date, or a recharge In storage date Or both.Hiw would you tell ?
To check the glow plugs just check each ones resistance with a multi meter. New ones should be 2 ohms or so and duds will show no resistance. To check the capacity you need a load tester. They are cheap to buy and also are able to test the alternator output too or any worthy battery supplier like Halfords will check it for free if they think they can sell you a battery!
