I got home tonight and my neighbour was waiting for me. "We've had a power cut." Now his electrics are in the garage together with all the fridges and freezers and the door is, yep, electric and the remote obviously wasn't working. Just use the emergency barrel key and we can open the door says me.(or was that sesame?) "we can't because the key is in the garage, with the spare" he says.
So I try and pick the barrel but the pins are very sticky as it's never been used in 18 years and I can't get a proper tension on the barrel. Locksmith wants £95.00 to come out and then extra to drill and fit a new lock.
So I set about drilling the heads off the dome head bolts and pull the plate off and pull the cable to open the door.
Now, does anyone know where I might get these 4mm dome head bolts as I can only see them being sold with replacement locks. They're about 2 1/4" long. Obviously they can't have slots or Pozi in the heads. Thanks gurus.
