True, but next year he will be glad he still has some dry long logs.
Going forward he needs to decide if they will have two stacks or just make short logs that fit in both fires.
10T sounds a lot but we use about that in one hard winter & rest of year.
They need to start processing logs now for next year & the year after.
All the time spent on re cutting could be better spent on planning ahead.

Agreed. You need to be about 3 years ahead for wood. We started from scratch again here and needed to buy in for the first year then we were able to start planning for 2 and 3. I do work for a landscaper / tree surgeon so its not so bad.

A few years ago an old boy in Odiham asked me to drop a few loads of timber into his front garden,I did explain it was artic loads but he didn't seem phased. When I had finished you couldn't actually see his bungalow any more, fair play to the old boy because within a few weeks he had cut/stacked the whole lot in this huge shed in his back garden.

Just a Rayburn 212 SFW but it does all the hot water heating & cooking in Autumn Winter & Spring.
With occasional burns in summer if we need a hot water top up.
We plan on 15 very full IBC's in a normal full year which is about 7 or 8t but colder ones use more.
