Need something milling

Can anyone make me a new T piece for my lathe?
Haven’t finished the mill yet and don’t want to change the existing piece as it suits the original toolpost.

Obviously happy to pay.

I’m not sure what material would be best, needs to be fairly tough. Will order whatever is needed, be it EN16 or EN24 etc.
I do have some tough and fairly flat plate but I’m unsure of the grade.

I’m just working on the dimensions. The important bit is obviously it needs to be flat and parallel with the steps both parallel to the top and the bore will need to be a good 20mm fit.
I will make the pin to suit toolpost and send that to reference from.

Just designing pin for my tool post, I plan on removing the top slide/compound entirely. You may want to get whoever makes it for you to add a precision hole for a reference pin that locks the multifix post from rotating. For the A the reference pin is 5.6mm at a diameter of 42mm.

You could mill that on your lathe easy enough, if you have an angle plate. And a decent clock gauge

Yep 5.6mm it measures out at. Gonna be a custom pin that size.

The cross slide just has two ½” holes. Not like Colchester’s with the t slots

Quick question, you don’t know what the different sizes of hex are on the spline keys are do you? The hex on mine is 12mm across flats.

I want to order a bigger key (Assuming the bigger sizes use bigger hex so I can make a custom nut so I can take the toolpost off with the same handle.

Yeah this one is rough Pete. More smeared the metal off than machined it.

I wouldn't go altering anything just yet, like you say I bet it's hardend

Ordinary steel will do, if you’re yanking on it hard enough to bend ms then you’ve broke the cast iron!
My old pops repaired a lot of compound slides with pulled tool post studs.
Mig brazing worked the best but I’m going off topic..
