Need some help with Sealey MghtyMig150 please

Hello , I need some advice from you guys , can anyone explain this to me please ?

-Power Input: 230V - 1ph
PLEASE NOTE this welder does not come with a 3 pin plug and will NOT work on full power on a standard household mains system.

I thought the UK houses power are 240 V 1phase ?? I'm a bit confused

I take it you are quoting from an ad the

If so then what they are getting at is that you can only draw up to 13 amps from a home mains socket as the max fuse that could be fitted is .....13 amps!
You can have a 16 Amp socket fitted and that would use a different type of plug and be wired on it's own fuse (trip) in the fuse box.
Hence if you crank the welder up to it's max and have fitted a normal 3 pin plug and used a 13 amp fuse you may blow that fuse.

another question : can I use extension cable from the house main socket to the garage as I haven't got any socket fitted yet in the garage ?

pretty much, its the same as my cut50 plasma.. i can use it upto about 25-30 on the 13amp plug, but if i want to go upto 50 then i need to connect it to 240v 32amp plug.

you can as long as the cable is thick enough to take the amps

when i lived in scotland i use to run a cable from my house to the garage.
it was a good 100ft long. and i used 2.5mm yellow arctic.

I will buy the Sealey MghtyMig150 and use extension then see how it goes with 13 amps socket .
ohh sorry , another question : is it possible to use transformer that convert 13 amps to 16 amp ?
