Thanks. Yes, using ice packs to cool the paint and ID of the pipe was another suggestion someone made, and they said it was generally accepted. The interstitial, static air gap can't be cooled easily - the weep hole is pretty small on the repad.Hi, dont laugh but how about cooling the air gap void (if possible) and after painting the inside running some form of coolant (locally?) Inside to reduce temp to prevent damage to the paint?
The paint system is Army Corps 5EZ (US spec) paint is by Sherwin Williams - its max temp is about 225°F (less than 100°C).
