Need a toolbox full of tools

This is the script: Daughter and husband have bought a house and as the husband bloke is a decent sort and willing to have a go I thought a nice "Housewarming Gift" would be a toolbox with an assortment of useful "House" tools. What would the ideal "House toolbox " contain and indeed, which toolbox? I will_not_buy_rubbish.
Suggestions please....................

one of those stanley type plastic boxes . hammer , screwdriver set , large and small shifter , waterpump pliers and vise grips , a bubble , tape measure of some sort , thats a decent start stanley knife small hacksaw and a small wood saw maybe a floorboard saw . some gaffa tape , some electrical tape and a couple of joiners pencils

good starter kit plus a couple of saws etc main point as bob says has he got any idea what to do with them

even if you have to call on someone next door , or a parent etc , its handy to have some tools to hand

I've a 60 ish quid Lidl tool set, sockets, spanners, ratchets everything you could need, well nearly.

Yeah, it's not top dollar, but it's very very functional.

It lives in the car, if ever it's stolen, I won't be pee'd off, compared to my good tools.

Hammer, adjustables, screwdrivers, etc,

The list is endless, frankly.

Is he / she servicing the car too ? Or just fixing household problems ?

Plumbing stuff ? Basic voltmeter ?

Adjustable. Hammer. That’s about it

I think it’s been covered really but spanners / sockets; claw hammer; wood saw; tape; level; junior hacksaw and / or pipe cutter; screwdrivers; emergency stuff like fuses, 13a plug or two, push end fittings for 22 and 15mm pipe (2 of each), hose clamps. In some ways that sort of kit is as valuable as actual tools. Especially at 2200 when you’ve a leak!

Joking aside a decent adjustable is worth having too.

I have the same dilemma so i am donating all my old stuff i have copies of..cordless/corded drill...sanding machine.. 125mm grinder...screwdrivers..hammer..level..assortments of nails,screws etc..spanners/sockets..all put into an old Dewalt box i have. Wont be buying new stuff for them just yet as i want to see if the old stuff gets looked after and not abused
