Hi I am trying to help a person who doesnt speak good english and is not very tech minded
his 3 phase welder switch has broken the shaft he stripped it to try and repair and got the config wrong I am affraid,
the welder is tx260 http://promac.ch/media/images//bedienungsanleitung/gys/tebd_tx140a_tx260a_de.pdf
the part number is on page 13 and is T2603 but I think there is a typo( copy paste prob) because it is 6 segment 10 position switch not 5 as the manual says
as you can see the main switch t2602 switches the mains on and the 10 position switch alters the primary winding to adjust the secondary voltages in 10 steps the switch also had 3 bridge links
I take it the switch would need to be 3pole to accomodate the three phases
the switch type is similar to 61067 but that is 10 position single pole we, i think need ten position 3pole ?
but cannot seem to find it.
any chance of a telephone call back please
Have spoken with salzer technical in uk for you burhan and they say it is virtually impossible to have 10 position switch with only 6 segments and 3phase, the switch would have to have minimum of 30 switches therefore 15 segments, and they do not do one that big!! for it to be only 6 segments it MUST be a special and they must be bridging the switching back in------ which they obviously are and combining the primaries.
He confirmed that what the manufacturers do, is remove the config numbers off the switch so that you HAVE to buy from them, and triple the price.
I asked him if salzer would have the original design drawings /specification from the original purchase, from the welder designer, he is ringing germany tomorrow to try and get the information and a translation verified, that is all I can do untill he rings me tomorrow.
No problem my friend, I have done my best to assist you, I know this kind of thing can be very difficult, your english is VERY VERY good,a lot better than my greek for instance, but good language skills dont always work when it comes to technical terms, but I have had help from people I dont know in the past so I am just doing my bit in return.Anyway,Im thankful to you for helping me...God bles you
Back to you Norm...I looked at a Father Christmas Mankini in B and M Bargines.Even a white Santas beard at the lower parts. The mind boggles.who is going to post the first picture.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for, YOUR THANK YOU, it is very appreciated, and it puts a lot of english people to shame and even some people HERE, on this forum!!!
Dear Norm
Thank you for your email.
I have just discussed this with my Colleague in Germany, who informs me that your Customer’s Sister have been in contact with them over the last few days.
My Colleague has asked your Customer’s Sister for more information, such as a Wiring Diagram for this switch.
In the End. she suggested contacting the Machine Manufacturer because this is a special switch and without the part number due to the vast amount of Special M220 Cam Switches we have produced over the last 25 years, we could identify it.
We trust that this meets with your approval. If you require any further information or assistance please call me.
Kind regards,
Clarence Green

E mail received today from Salzer ------so it looks like they have tried their best, to sort the problem........
I have since spoken with another the guy at salzer UK, that used to build the switches and he says it is impossible to know/guess the config, I asked him if the switch is/was probably 3 X of 4 segments --therefore 3 identical switches stacked on top of each other IE 3pole and he says probably/possibly.
So burhan
how far did you strip the switch? when you tried to repair it?,
if only the first and second segments fell apart, then maybe, the further segments COULD be still in some sort of order for them to copy.[/
When I tried to repair it was month ago...I opened it 2 times, but 1st time I opened and I closed it wrong, and the switch didn't comply with other parts of switch.I opened again and try to fix and close it for 2nd but now...the configuration goes wrong...i would say that first maybe second segment I pulled out,the other segments are in their place...I hope
I really dont understand in this kind of configuration...I opened it accidently...I didn't realize that it could be deadly for switch
I appreciate your effort to try helping me...Thanks 100 times Norm Spanners
If you read the thread, all would become clear------ We cant get a new switch---That IS the hassle. How much would a new switch be?Could sort a whole lot of hasttle
salzer have said, if you send it to germany they may be able to help. but then you are dealing with people that dont speak the same language and are maybe not that bothered to help.
The other possibility is to send it to UK, maybe i could have a look for you. BUT I cant guarantee that I can work it out, the guy i spoke to today has good knowledge of the switches he used to build them but has no electrical design experience he can only work off a design plan given to him. BUT maybe the two of us could work it out for you.
as said I cannot hand on heart say that I can fix it but would give it my best shot.
That is brilliant thank you, does it come with the bridge pieces on it ?Hi. The company I work for manufacture welding machines in the UK. If you have 4 wires coming from each coil of the three phase transformer in your machine, the switch is what we call a shuffle switch. We stock a 10 position switch which is a replacement for the salzer 10 position switch and it has the same switch numbering. It does not have the 0 position though, just 1-10. There is one listed on ebay, ebay item number 121818482029. hope the info helps.
