Need a decent tarpaulin ?

Having used many types of lower budget tarps and as well as some folk know they dont last to long, mainly due to UV destroying them. I once had had a small section that i had for years covering some timber but have no clue what that was so cant look for some more of it. wagon curtain side comes to mind.. I need to invest in a good one. It is to keep a boat dry so need it to be around 9mx5m.

Can anyone recommend a good one, want it to last a good twelve months. maybe two winters.

That looks ok to me. I've used cheap ones which tear and break up.

My mum has one which was her dads which he "acquired" from the RAF after serving in the 60s. It's still going strong covering whatever needs covering.

why dont you build a tent structure and use a pull out tent instead

its temporary so you will get away with it

similar problems here....
the stuff for truck sides is just great but there are at least 2 grades....
the cheaper grade is about €15 m2....cost soon racks up.....
think I'd look at a truck breakers and buy an old side curtain or 2....wish I could here....can only buy new....
as I wanted a lot I looked at alibarber etc....but the min amount was 1,000m2.....plus transport....

That's canvas out then. The one I use as my awning 8' x 10' cost me £80 ten years ago

You can get 900 gsm on Ebay This is a cover for a boat I built 3years ago with the hap made from that stuff. It is superb.

I have a project like that, a little trailer sailer, thought it'd only be sat a couple of months... Two years later in wishing I'd had a tarp on it.
Watching the answers with interest, can you let us know how good the one you get is please.

Looking at a Tarp for my Workshop Build and these Folks look decent enough.

Most sizeable haulage companies will have piles of old curtains from trucks that they will let go for free, you will get a lot of useable HD tarps out of a torn 40ft curtain .. Buy a two bob eyelet tool and make up your own.
