Hi all
Im after a bit of advice on welding in my new sills. Iv
put some pics below so you can make sense of what im on about.
Ive cut the old sills off but ive been told that when i come to butt weld in the new one it will distort like mad. Is there any other way of doing it without it distorting and making a mess of things. Frost do a product called Cold Front http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=8822&frostProductName=Cold Front (414ml)&catID=33&frostCat=Welding&frostSubCat=&subCatID=
but not sure if this would be a waste of money.
Would it still distort if i tacked the new sill every inch then bridged the gaps but letting everything cool down as im doing the gaps ???? Any help would be much appreciated.
Pics below
You can see a black line about half way down the sill. The line above is
where the bodykit ends and i wanted to keep all work under it if possible.
All spot welds drilled out on sill lip and cut using a straight edge
I will also have to fab up a new hanging sill support bracket as this one is well gone. More welding fun
Any help would be much appreciated
