Nederman clear lense covers???

just after a bit of help.

i have a nederman weldomatic 2000 welding screen 9-13.

having trouble finding a site for new lense covers as the local supplier has shut down, any help out their??

Greg,Toolstation used to do the front covers but I see they have dropped the line? anyway they sell covers for the helmet they are selling at the moment,don't know if it will be the same size though?

I've had a thought about replacing the front clear lense covers,is there anything to stop us using a piece thin cut glass? ie picture frame glass.

I was thinking of attaching a purpose made frame from plastic rod and glueing it to the helmet so that a piece of glass,even clear perspex can be slotted into the purpose made attachment.

Is it the internal or the external lens cover you need ?

I would think there would be others out there that you would be able to cut down / adapt, they are a type of plastic.

If you post the measurements, both, I'll measure my old BOC lid, they are still available for it, Ichanged them both fairly recently.

Glass will be next to useless. It will be covered in spatter in no time, therres a reason they are plastic.

Esab suppliers do them, look for Eyetech lense covers. One and the same.


Any old shape wont do, it will pop the retainer out at the sides, then spatter will get behind it and damage the lcd lense. They are polycarbonate by the way.

i'll post the sizes on here tomorrow once i've measured them at work.

was also thinking about maybe a sheet of clear perspex about 1.5mm or 2mm thick then cutting to size in the guilliotine at work. may be cheaper in the long run!!

They are polycarbonate by the way.

Its just that in the 80's I had a hand mask that had glass over the dark green plate.

Older screens use glass. They are next to useless in a few days of heavy welding as the spatter sticks to the glass wheras it bounces off polycarbonate cover screens.
The Esab screens are around 1-1.5mm thick. They are radiused, so pieces cut from flat sheet won't stay put behind the retaining frame.
We buy them for under a quid a piece from a welding supplier. They are available in packs of 5,10, and 50 i think. Not worth the hassle of cutting from sheet for them not to fit. Buy the right ones imo.

Thats fine,WP...but what about if you buy a helmet off flea bay that is not a well known brand? I see different sizes out there and not all are specifying their size of the screens.

Could we have a sticky on screens size and the helmet it fits and then we could cross reference to buy what size will fit this helmet and what size will fit that helmet.

Be a great asset to have something like this.

Another reason why cheapo ebay chinese helmets aren't such a good purchase as they seem. Availability of spares is a hassle.

Buy a Jackson, Sif, Speedglass, Esab, parweld....... phone or visit any welding supplier they will know what you want, and have a good selection on the shelf

Of course,will photograph the helmet tomorrow and also the screen and size.

Hitch I know but lets get me welding practice outta the way first before I let the moths surface...because if I find Im useless at welding then I can flog the welder with helmet at a bit of a loss and then go back to twiddling me thumbs.

nederman front lense covers

Just joined but I saw your post and I have a brand new pack of original front lines covers..the pack contains 10 front covers forgot I bought them for my old weldomatic 2000 ..made in Switzerland and the part number is 911222 I think..yours for £8 if you want them
