I can’t imagine any circumstance in which I would allow any part of my body to be dragged into a chop saw. I happen to be quite fond of my extremities. However, the consequence of an unrestrained saw being able to climb up your arm had never occurred to me. Got a couple of those things and they always just sit on a bench top or on the ground.
I wouldn’t use one on a narrow shelf (workmate) like the chap in the article but I don’t think I have ever even used one that’s properly fixed down. Is that uncommon or do we all do it?
