Ok, so some of you may have read in the "Nasty accidents" thread, that I managed to cleanly snap a 7mm bit in half and force the part still mounted in the drill through my index finger. Followed by a trip up to A&E, etc, etc.
Well, I returned there on Friday to the fracture clinic to be updated on it.
I have now, just returned home from Hull Royal Infirmary after an operation done by a plastic surgeon. Who, I may add was highly suprised at how little damage it had done. I missed the big nerve, I also missed the tendon, and I missed 1 of the arteries, I destroyed the other unfortunately, but, I do get to keep my finger and there isn't any long term damage that they can forsee.
Which is nice I suppose.
Now it's just a waiting game, for the enlarged wound to heal after the 2 hour operation, then go get my stitches taken out, and possibly start physio and have a few more weeks off work, not that the 23 weeks off I've had so far this year is enough mind...
I am officially getting bored of not actually being at work, and I never thought I would be saying something like that!
