Chrome is usually a cold blue silver, where nickel is a warmer yellow silver. I'm talking very slightly coloured here but out the 2 next to each other and it's obvious there's a difference.

Powder cost maybe an option maybe.

Have a chat with Badger Anodising in Birmingham. Last time I was up there they'd very successfully matched the colour and texture of some shower trim parts that were previously done in gold leaf (replacements were either aluminium or stainless I can't remember).

I was going to say it looks like a bad chrome plate but its not shiny enough - I am not sure if there is a matt chrome? If originality isn't an issue I think I would speak to a powder coater. They can do some good things now.
I wouldn't even know where to go for small scale plating. I take it the OEM part isn't available anymore?

I thought the same though, not shiny enough for chrome plating but it’s clearly been plated.
What are they off? might be easier to find replacements
They’re off a tractor, new ones are no good though by all accounts.
