Name that slab

Does anyone know what this type of paving slab is?

I managed to break it when a loose slab (tile?) fell off the patio. Either I need to fix it, glue it back and swap it around or ideally, replace it.

Who makes them and where can I get them?

Will the repair be walked on or is it just a cosmetic area? If cosmetic maybe reattach with some adhesive or concrete (get advice!) then dril 2 horizontal holes and reinforce with masonry bolts.

Or lift that tile, glue it back together and spin it 180 degrees so the weak part is in a non-loadbeading area?

I like the look but I've never seen slabs with a title pre-attached.

at worse case can you not angle grind down the gaps lift the slab chip off the cement turn it around quick flick on the side catching the dust of the white top bit resin plus screw the broken bit mix the last bit of resin with the dust and fill the crack ??

Condensed Milk. About 30 years ago we were putting scaffolding round a church steeple. On the way down managed to crack a gargoyle off a ridge. Anyway next day and a tin of said milk applied all good. Still in place today.

I'd drill a couple of small dowel pins in, say 6 or 8mm and epoxy it back together. It will be stronger than the slab.
It would probably work fine without the dowels

Why is a patio tile so difficult to match? I could glue it up and spin it around but of course I would have to pull it off first without breaking it any further.

as its very close to the wall is it in the walk way eg where you would normaly step ?

You're all wrong. This is clearly breeze block with a Royal iced coating.
As far as replacements go, you'll get a good match around Yule tide!

Its Cinder block actually,early 70's,be hard to get a replacement now

Although this is from a newly built extension. Brand new about 10 years ago.

I will chase it up and see if I can find a supplier. TBH I am surprised no one here is familiar with it.

Could whoever built the extension have been using up the last of a NLA product back then, hence the unavailability now?

I'm very familiar with such item,broken and removed enough of them in my early days of demo.
And as a good gesture i'm quite good buddy buddy with a few salvage yards near me,so i'll keep an eye open for you

Very kind thanks. I might have a couple of "spares" but 600x400. They were little garden seats my neighbour wanted removing. Most got broken up and lobbed over the wall (long story) but I think one might be complete. They are all completely random sizes so far as I can tell. These particular ones might even be Eastern European.

Turned into a bear of a job. I need to find someone who can render a wall to perfection. I had to rip all the render off to dig out some rusted metal trim. I could have a crack at it myself but ideally I would subcontract it for a professional finish. If anyone would like to quote for it (West London) drop me a pm. Cash in hand, free tea and biscuits.

Oh and it needs astroturf too which will be another contracted out job.

sbr and exterior tiles ? for the walls then a job you can do render i find on single skin walls dont ever seam to last for ever fine on a house as it drys the walls out but single skin and no damp coures wicks up the damp blowing the render

He is determined to have render... Might end up with some coping at the top but the fence stays put so anything is going to be awkward. Surely there must be a modern all weather render? Agree about the damp though, the render still on there is more like sand than mortar.

I would glue it. Dropped an engine hoist onto some concrete steps a few years ago and took a good chunk out. I used araldite. Works perfectly and is not noticeable. If you are well fussy glue the bottom half up to 75% height and brush some lime in the top.

It is looking like that's the way to go. I may swap it around so the break is at the back, if I can get it off without breaking it again!
