I'm with you on RDG.Chronos will be using Chinese made backplates similar to RDG although I have heard RDG actually sell Indian made stuff badged as Myford, not sure if there is any truth in that however.
I have dealt 2 or 3 times with Chronos and found them decent, they replaced a quick change holder I got for the wee CNC lathe I had, it didn't fit properly and they sent a new one out right away.
RDG I have dealt with once and it was not a great experience, that may just have been bad luck but I have decided not to test that theory out again.
It's a 2 hr drive but I canoe down there so no real issue. Just not aloud to do non essential trips currently with COVID 19. My thread is 1 1/8x12tpi.
Thanks, I've got it sorted, see my post. You're welcome to call & check the new backplate on my lathe (once the restrictions are lifted). But I can't see that being any help as your lathe will have the same spindle nose thread as mine, all ML7's were the same. I think the problem is that the supplied backplate has either been incorrectly machined or they sent the wrong one.
As others have said, get shirty with RDG or get your credit card company involved, you were supplied incorrect or defective goods.
