Hi guys. I live in N. Ireland & I have a wee Myford Ml7. I bought a new chuck with backplate for my lathe fitted from RDG Tools. I will not fit. The backplate hole is the same as my old chuck but the threads top are flat which says to me it not cut deep enough. I've spoken to RDG, they say their work is correct & the problem is mine, my lathe. I'm checking if anyone on here lives in N. Ireland, near Co. Down as I would love to try it on another lathe. I see Myford sell an index backplate but can't get any reply as I would like to know if they machine them or does RDG do it for them. I'm new to metal lathe wood, been nearly 50yrs since I've done any. I'm more a wood Turner, just to put my skill level out there.
