"mytoolstation" WSME 200 cheapie chinesie TIG fix

Afternoon folks,

I got one of the above AC/DC TIG's very cheap, but there's a problem with it.

On trying to light up, it doesn't strike. The gas valve works and it makes a buzzing noise, tiny sparks can be seen at the electrode but it doesn't fire into life properly.

MMA mode both AC and DC work fine.


I'm going to pull it in bits now and see if there is anything obvious.

Anyone had similar problems or have any suggestion?

Hi Chris, if the torch has only two connections to the machine (switch and gas) check the front gas outlet and left hand welding power socket (usually marked '-') are connected together. Sometimes its missed off during manufacture. Also check the continuity of the torch power lead from the electrode to the machine end of the connector. At the machine end its the centre of the gas pipe or a large Dinze connector depending on the torch design.

No dinse plug just a brass gas connector. And yep it was a defective torch, quite pleased for it to be so easy

Hi all.
I also have one of these machines and I can actually get it to work, the problem I have is I have lost the instruction manual. I have tried two of the companies in China who sell or make them to get a replacement but they have not been any help. Most of the large manufacturers post downloads on line for their machines but I have not found one for the w.m.s.e. 200.
Can anyone help, Can I buy one, Can I down load one, Can one be emailed to me. Please help, there are lots of dials and buttons that I don't fully understand by guesswork. Perhaps someone who has a copy could even sell a copy to me or others. through well know auction sites. As a final thought maybe mytoolstation could even sell the instructions on line and assist their customers.

I don't know where you would get a manual or even how much useful information the average Chinese TiG manual would have however there is lots of useful information in the TIG tutorial at the top of the forum click here

i have manual somewhere personaly i didnt find it much good ill dig it out and see if i can get picks on.kev

Cheers Keith, I've had a look at the forum, most of it I know, to do with actually welding. It's setting the machine and understanding what settings are before starting to weld. The manual I hope will help with this. Thanks Sandy

Sounds as though the HF start is working but no arc up. Check for a loose connection but leave it unplugged for a while for the charge in the HF generator to dissipate.
