Not really but it mattered enough to Cumbria Steve to put me in my place and it's happened to my other thread so quite understandable that I thought it happened here as I wouldn't pick the Brew Room for something technical

Just look at the forum listing, there are descriptions of what each sub forum is intended for.

Yeah. I get the concept and my point is I wouldn't put something technical in the Brew Room. I do apologise for not realising there isn't a plumbing forum. Thanks for the sarcasm

It did not strike 'again', by using that term means the first one where you stated

was actually moved when in fact it was not and allowed that statement to come back and bite you in the rear somewhat .

The blades thread was moved, probably because the moderator considered the brew room which is a very active section would give you a faster result for the information you sought, there would have been a timed redirection and notification of the move in your alerts at the time.

Anyway back on-topic here.

I got my fitting today. Not sure however if the threaded end is definitely for a compression joint. It doesn't have concave end to accept olive.

Having said that I can't think of how you could have a threaded plumbing joint if it wasn't a compression fitting. Also I noticed that the olive I got with another 1/4 BSP compression fitting I bought has a straight olive so mb that's to be expected.

It's strange as they are supposed to be for help and sharing knowledge but there seems to be a large amount of ppl waiting at their keyboards to make smart-ass remarks.

Very simple, every thread has a moderation action record, so if it is moved, locked, swear words removed etc then it is recorded.

It mattered to me enough to 'put you in your place' if that's the term you wish to use, because you were happy to judge and blame the moderators for your own memory fail when you could have simply asked politely if the thread had been moved and why.

Now as far as I am concerned the matter has been cleared up and that's the end of it.

There is no harm in what I said as my thread(s) have been moved before for no logical reason so it wasn't that strange for me to think it had happened more than once.

And your closing comment here is quite cheeky. Can I report a moderator for being rude? This is my thread remember

No, because technically I don't use a keyboard - therefore I can't wait at it.

But you're right in a way, a forum is a good place to share knowledge and experience.

It's just occasionally someone comes along who can't help but whinge about things that either didn't happen or did happen but for good reason, so they take it upon themselves to start getting uppity about how the forum is run and moderated.

I'm sure you'd agree that people who do that sort of thing deserve a small helping of sarcasm.

I'm not whinging. My post was about a component and I made a brief mention of why it appeared in a sub-forum that I didn't think was appropriate. You, amongst others, have chosen to butt-in.

It's nothing to do with you. It's my thread. Do you want me to go and pick faults in your threads? Also the remark about the keyboard is feeble. Keypad/keyboard. Who cares.

Just had a look. I can see it's the usual scenario. Two or more members with several thousand posts on the forum popping up on each other's threads. Fair enough but don't Troll mine.

Simple suggestion. If you don't have anything to say about the subject of the thread don't comment

Up until now I don't think any of us has ever even mentioned you so fill yer boots and get yourself put on our
"members to keep an eye on" list, if that's what you'd like.

Threads are moved if we think they'd be better off in a more suitable place.
A typical example is people posting general car queries in the automotive section, that section is for project discussions only so lots of threads get moved from there to the brew room.

Regarding your tile cutter thread, it was me that moved it, quite possibly in error so to keep you happy I'll put it back where it was.
We're all volunteers on here, give us a break eh?

My comments were nowhere near trolling.

It was you that chose to divert the thread with multiple complaints about it (and others) being moved, then arguing when you were told it wasn't.

I've made two helpful comments - one explaining what the brew room was for (sensible discussion of topics not covered elsewhere, and plumbing isn't covered elsewhere) and another linking you to an area of the forum designated for your thread related questions.

Anything else was simply reaction to your attitude.

Your comment about the Brew Room wasn't helpful. I know exactly what it's for and that was my original point.

You aren't a moderator so it's not your place to police threads.

I made one comment about the thread being moved. Anything else was a reaction to people like you butting-in
