Over the last week been finding a lot of 4mm ball bearings over the shed floor.
Another 3 tonight



Couldn't track it to any tool I've been using, penny dropped, some fat barsteward has been using my stool!

Which are likely out of the same MIC warehouse with a different sticker at the same price range....

I use an office chair I found outside a charity shop. But I'm 10 stone.

I've rescued an old office chair from the bin....
have an old pressed tin tractor seat to go on it.....
thanks for reminding me, it will be a job for today...

Four wheels on a stool is maybe not the best design. Three might be better on a fairly rigid frame.

The office chairs with five legs all meet in the centre, so can flex/spring a bit to distribute the weight when the floor is not even.

I am surprised that no-one has yet said that replacement wheels are available from the local supermarket, four for £1. You will also be re-supplying the local magnet-fishing community. It would need a female thread in the leg to attach them.

That looks quite substantial instead of the central stem alone supporting you over a much longer distance. Perhaps popping a new set of polyurethane rubber castors on it might just give you a very good chair

Yes it helps if the spread of the wheels is greater than the spread on the seat.

I like it, though I mainly used it when I was using a wheelchair, now I can walk and stand ok, I only use it occasionally.
