Had a Myford ML7 for about 20 years. Plenty of experience on larger machines, it was just that the Myford is a handy size, and I’ve been amazed how versatile it is. I work in the machine tools trade, and never really coveted a larger machine despite tripping over nice used examples day after day, but always thought...maybe one day.
It would be seriously nice to be able to take heavy cuts. I’ve done a bit of stainless work recently, and god it’s slow. I’ve always fancied a Smart & Brown but probably a Colchester Student or Harrison M300. Acquiring all the tooling all over again puts me off a bit.
Any other reasons I should forget about it and keep the little Myford?
