Anyone happen to know what's the size of the grub screw that holds on the hand wheel to the carriage of a Myford lathe? Chap I bought the wheel from thinks that it came off a 7.
I bought it to replace the broken plastic one that's on my Chinese mini lathe, I know that I'm going to have to make a 'sleeve' to make up the difference in the bore size of the hole to spindle on my machine, the M6 X 1.0 grub screw that I currently have is a close fit to what it should be but I know it's not right.
I'm only really familiar with metric threads to be honest, from what I gather it could be a 1/4" BSW or is that BSF? Is there a X 1 on the end of it also??
If I happen to get hold of one that's Allen key driven, I'm guessing that will be an imperial size too then?
Again I mainly have metric Allen keys, out of the imperial assortment that I do have, which size is it likely to be?
