No it's engaging as far as I can tell. Might just be out of adjustment? It's in the same place now as it was when I took it off.

So the carb saga continues.
When I try and set the fload level using a tube from the drain the fuel keeps running out the over-flow even though the end of the over-flow tube is higher than the fuel intake.
I have stuffed about with various float lights measured with calibers.
I guess the needle valve isn't sealing?

Can you post a picture of the overall thing overflowing? Where are you connecting the level tube to?
the above doesn't look right, the tube should replace the overflow pipe and come down vertically then up the side of the carb, yours seems to come out at right angles to the carb.
If you leave the float bowl off and lift the float up gently it should stop the fuel coming through. If it doesn't then there is something wrong with the valve.
If the fuel flow cuts off and you put the float bowl back on and the fuel doesn't cut off then there is something interfering with the float movement.

I had the fuel supply in the blue and the clear sight pipe in the drain for the bowl. ( red) I held the overflow up the side of the carb.

I have a strong feeling the bike has a XT600 float in it,also the valve and barrel from a 600.
Reason is that Kendo sells the same needle valve and barrel I took out. I put a 660 barrel and valve in it under a 600 float maybe?
Anyhow ,I ordered a 660 float,valve and barrel,also a 600 valve and barrel.
So are you taking the black pipe off and replacing it withe a clear pipe on the spigot it is currently on?

New carb rubbers installed,carb put back on and it started first time with a
bit of choke.
It began to leak from the bowl overflow but it's stopped. It's not wanting to rev past 3000rpm but I hope just warming it up more after installing the airbox might fix that?I dit adjust the second carb to begin opening after the primary slide was 6mm up.
Found this hose,it's joined at a T junction between the carbs,anyone know where it goes?
