My Turner Prize Entry

Chunko will be proud of me - the photo shows the first 3 parts of my installation. I plan to add a further 3 or 4 further parts later in the week. I'm working on an equestrian theme.

What does it suggest to you? I'm thinking I might space apart the pieces, add something like the piece in the foreground but a little taller and wider, and to balance that maybe some taller sections towards the background that maybe have a 14 degree angle on top.

Once you get started the art just goes it's own way.

Referencing the next post (cripes art is power and I'm in the zone) - I do plan to raise it from the floor.

Steel Henge, bringing the Druids into the 21st century.

Steel Henge - that's really inspired. I might well move on from my equestrian theme as the sculpture does reference the rising sun in so many ways. It will need to be aligned millimetre perfect for best effect.

I can't offer any photos showing the other use just yet as the sun has set and it's a bit dark in the workshop.

It's obviously at attempt to exlore the dichotomy between the man as a man and the man as a man, using hooplike projections to explore the relationship between the two states.

I confes that that kind of artspeak ballocks drived me up the wall.

Remembered to take some photos before it got too dark. But first here's my latest installation. It's titled "Unmade Bench".

And finally the project. It's a chassis jig for a Datsun 240Z. Imported from the states so rust free apart from the floors, but has been messed around with and needs a jig for alignment:



I've not bolted anything up yet - still making pieces. The front end is the worst and will also need jigging at the strut top mountings. I'm doing a writeup on the internet http://www.vord.net/cars/240z/index.htm which shows the evils that will need fixing.

I'll put the jig in for the Turner Prize after the job is finished.

They don't need to know that We just need a way of making it seem controversial. I've moved on from the equestrian and druid themes and I'm starting to see it as a poignant political comment on recent events juxtaposing intrinsic dichotomies (which events exactly will depend on when the judging takes place).

This piece is a manifestation of the juxtaposition of currency, and the human condition in relation to corporate institutions.

Yep a pretty weld Malcolm but I don't like your sliding square, I gave mine away, it was neither a true 45 degrees nor 90 degrees. Annoying it was. I prefer the old fixed square.
