Where I worked years ago the keys to the doors, other than the front door were kept in the safe, .......... the safe key was kept in the office clock!

Built mine into the wall, fortunately it was open when the keys were lost so we can still use it as a cupboard.

Put a few pennies in a money bag and toss it inside. Makes a good decoy for anyone breaking in.

I've been looking for a suitable safe to store ammo in. Many new ones look flimsy, many old ones look super heavy. Not much in the middle ground.

A friend has a small safe, typical of those you'd find in a hotel. It's not screwed down and has a few bits of rubbish inside. His theory is that if his house is ever broken into they'll grab the safe and leg it.

A guy I knew in Sheffield had a huge paymasters safe with double doors as a tool cabinet, he needed it where he lived , garage loft space most of us would use as storage was rammed full of razor wire because the scrotes would try and come in through the roof

Seen a workshop that had a big secure door and chamber type thing and at the end of the day everyone pushed their roll cabs into it to try and secure most of the tools, think its currently dumped outside the shop so they must have got fed up with the wheel in and out routine

Yes most are.
There are plenty of videos on Youtube showing people breaking open safes or shooting them etc. They are never proper safes like mine though. Just gun safes or fire resistant ones.
The only video I have seen with a reasonable quality safe is this one.
Not quite as strong as my new one but pretty good all the same.

I would love to see how that giant fist was made - very impressive engineering.
